Security

The Security tab controls how members sign in and how new members can join your workspace. It is available on Team workspaces only.

For your personal account security (password, 2FA, passkeys), see Account → Security.

Password policy

Section titled “Password policy”

Enforce password strength rules for all members.

  1. Strength level — pick one of four levels:
    • Default — no special character requirements.
    • Letters + digits — must include both letters and numbers.
    • Lowercase + uppercase + digits — mixed case plus numbers.
    • Lowercase + uppercase + digits + symbols — maximum complexity.
  2. Minimum length — set between 8 and 128 characters (default is 12).

Changes apply to new signups and password resets going forward. Existing passwords are not rotated.

Join URL

Section titled “Join URL”

A join URL lets anyone with the link request to join your workspace without a direct invitation. Owners review and approve incoming requests.

  1. Click Generate join URL to create a shareable link.
  2. Copy the URL and share it with your team.
  3. To revoke the link, click the unlink icon. The old URL stops working immediately.

You can regenerate the URL at any time — this invalidates any previously generated link.

Auto-onboard domain

Section titled “Auto-onboard domain”

Automatically add anyone who signs up with a matching email domain to your workspace, without requiring approval.

  1. Click Configure domain to open the verification dialog.
  2. Enter your company domain (for example, acme.com).
  3. Click Save & Check. Zeiter generates a DNS TXT record you must add to your domain.
  4. At your DNS provider, add the zeiter-verify=<token> TXT record.
  5. Return to the dialog and click Save & Check again. Once verified, the status changes from “Pending” to “Active”.

To disable auto-onboard, click the unlink icon next to the domain name.
